Prof. Uwe-Jens Wiese from the University of Bern and Prof. Jie Meng from Peking University both receive the prestigious Humboldt Prize of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation after being nominated by the Director of the Bethe Center, Prof. Ulf-G. Meißner. The prize recognizes the laureates' important contributions to the physics of strongly interacting quantum systems in various settings, namely particle and condensed matter physics (Wiese) as well as nuclear physics (Meng). The award is endowed with 60,000 euros.
